It's sad, because it took 5.4 liters and a damn supercharger to get 475hp. Meanwhile my 5.0 in my Mach 1 HP with an x pipe and blue filter puts down 501hp to the wheels NA and weighs a couple hundred lbs less than this car with much wider and grippier tires and literally light years away as far as suspension.

There's 80..... it seemed he had no trouble getting in front of that truck. Incredibly safe vehicles, solid engines, and smooth problem free transmissions. My neighbor has one with 280K on the odometer and wouldn't part with it to save the world.

I owned a 1967 Chevelle 427 BB with a rock crusher M22 and a 12" rear end. I bought it in pieces from a little old Lady in Lodi. Her husband had passed away a year earlier. She was the sweetest little thing and it had an absurdly low price. I wasn't about to do that to her. I'm glad I got to her first. I gave her $10,000 dollars in 1989. I did not leave it stock. In hindsight I wish I had. I built it myself in my shop over a three year period. When done it was well over 525HP/550#lbs of torque. I too had 3.73 gears and loved that ratio honestly. I find it hard to believe you think it's not to fast because mine was freaking violent. Divorce in 2008 ripped it from my hands. I miss that car to this day and would have been buried in it.

I went with a coilover setup silvers neomax with swift springs to be exact and never looked back . Still rides smooth as eggs handles well and no more ABC headaches and less weight !

I just bought a 66 chevelle SS. I did a couple videos with it. Wanted one for about 35 years. Mine has 3.55 gears. At 60 mph I’m at 3000 rpms. So I’m like you. I really wish I had a 5th gear. But I enjoy it the way it is. Did you by chance chase the history of your car to see if it was your mother’s car? Would be cool if it was. Ken

Great video! Very informative. I’m considering buying an 06 XLR with 40k miles. I’ve got a great mechanic but am very nervous about parts being hard to find and really expensive when maintenance is needed due to limited vehicle production run. What are your thoughts? Is this a dealbreaker?
